Notes from the Board of Trustees

February 2012

Sandy Eskrich, FUS Board of Trustees President

At our February Board of Trustees meeting we reviewed the work of the three Board Committees: Personnel, Finance and Governance and asked the question, are these committees spending their energy with activities that help the Board carry out its responsibility for discernment, strategy, developing policies and oversight?  This is not a simple question and boards in the future will continue to challenge themselves to stick with this focus.   We believe this is one of the keys to a powerful organizational structure for First Unitarian Society.

Also, very importantly, the members of the Board of Trustees as well as the members of the three Board Committees have accepted the challenge to take the lead in registering our Annual Pledge for financial support for FUS.  These individuals and families have made a 10% plus increase in our commitment to supporting the work of First Unitarian Society.

Please take the time to review the Annual Campaign materials. https://www.fusmadison.org/index.jsp?nid=346

Consider your engagement and endorsement of our spiritual organization and make or renew your annual pledge in a spirit of generosity.

Thank you,

Sandy Eskrich, President of the Board of Trustees
